I read that the cost of a super injunction starts at around £10,000, which is a fee you pay a court rather than what you pay a legal representative.

The issue about whether newspapers should be reporting in people’s personal lives isn’t clean cut. I consulted my media law book about this kind of thing and if a paper is publishing a story (obviously one without an injunction on it), it must be in the public interest otherwise it’s an illegal breach of privacy.

So if a paper is reporting about a politician being unfaithful, that’s kind of fair enough (people have a right to know what the people they are voting for are like), but for premier league footballers? I’m not convinced.

I feel the Monroe Doctrine played heavily in the minds of the people who signed the mission off. I think the Navy Seals had parts of it sewn into their jackets.
