So I popped my 3D film cherry. I knew it would happen sometime along the line and it turns out TRON: Legacy was the girl. I’ve slated 3D for quite a while and that was unchanged after watching this film. In fact deep down I actually thought, “it’s probably quite good”. But in the same way that when you first see The Day After Tomorrow or something of similar ilk, visually stunning but loses it’s appeal quickly.
So what did I think of TRON: Legacy and the 3D? How about I write a review? Yeah. The fact that people have probably already seen it and most definitely have seen a film in 3D has never stopped me before. Let’s get started on the latest review ever…Nick style.
As most good stories start, I was in the pub. It was the end of my first January exam and by 1pm I was at a level where I probably shouldn’t operate heavy machinery. Rather than waste the rest of the day in the pub we decided to go see a film. It was decided that 127 Hours was probably “too gory” so we went to see TRON: Legacy instead.
Apparently it is a sequel to a 1982 film simple entitled TRON. It stars the Dude, some pretty boy from America, David Frost, and thirteen and is set in a world generated by the Dude who got trapped in it by a younger looking Dude which his pretty-boy American son accidently fell into. In fact the whole creation of the world confused me and the different types of people confused me. I guess it was better explained in the original but then I had no idea that film existed until this afternoon. Believe me.
So what’s the film like? If you’re a fan of your sci-fi fantasy then it will be right up your street. The whole concept of the world and competition was entertaining but at the same time confusing – probably another case of watching the original. I did notice a distinct lack of plot, which was disguised by cool fight scene after cool driving scene after cool flight scene. But nevertheless little plot. The basic plot was:
